It’s always said that you should go out with a bang, and that’s exactly what the tournament organisers have done at APT Incheon. The Tick Tock BOOM event is a fun and exciting tournament that provides plenty of action and is the perfect way to wrap up an incredibly successful tournament stop. The last tournament of this stop was won by Taiwan’s Fang Puyen for KRW 4,287,800 after beating Yan Shing Tsang heads-up.
Tournament Structure
Those of you who are familiar with the Midnight Tick Tock events will be well aware of the fast-increasing levels of these events, but the Tick Tock BOOM event ramps things up to the next level. Instead of 20-minute levels decreasing to 15 minutes, 10 minutes, and 5 minutes, the levels start at 15 minutes long, then decrease to 10 minutes, 5 minutes, and finally end at 2 minutes per level!
You need to be hyper-aggressive if you hope to stay alive in this event, and more than a little luck is required if you want to make it far.
Final Tablists
Our first casualty on the final table was Thailand’s Yuthana Boonorm, his 9th-place finish for KRW 450,000 was his third-ever APT cash. Next to bust was Japan’s Makoto Watanabe, winner of the Turbo High Rollers event at last year’s APT Incheon. Watanabe was unable to claim his second APT title at this year’s event.
Ryan Park from the USA was the next victim of the fast structure, finishing 7th for KRW 770,000, followed by Singapore’s Kim Wah Chiu, who cashed in his third event of the series for KRW 970,000 after finishing 6th. After running deep in the Main Event and finishing runner-up in the No Limit Hold’em Freezeout event, Julien Rouxel completed a successful tournament stop by finishing 5th in the final event for KRW 1,250,000.
Japan’s Shobu Oda recorded his first-ever Hendon Mob cash after finishing 4th for KRW 1,550,000, and France’s Ludovic Vincent Debord recorded his third cash of APT Incheon with his 3rd place finish for KRW 1,970,000.
This left the winner of multiple WSOP bracelets and the winner of the H.E.R.O.S Event here at APT Incheon Yan Shing Tsang to face off against relatively inexperienced tournament player Fang Puyen from Taiwan. Despite Tsang having the more impressive resume, Puyen was coming off the back of a 10th-place finish in the Main Event and clearly had momentum with him.
That momentum allowed him to overcome his opponent in a tough heads-up battle, claiming the last APT Incheon title up for grabs, along with KRW 4,287,800.
