APT Online 2024 Recap: Events 6, 7, 8

Boasting $20 million in prize pool guarantees and running November 10th to December 1st, 2024, the Asian Poker Tour Online 2024 (APTO) has concluded the second weekend of intense online tournament poker action as the series reaches the midway point of the second quarter, with 8 out of the scheduled 20 Trophy Events now in the history books. Events #6-#8 played out between November 10th - 17th awarding three physical APTO trophies and crowning three new champions, with the $100 Event: #7 Mini Main Event $1M GTD drawing the largest field of the series so far, attracting a massive 12,001 entries—a 7 percent increase in entries from the November 2023 APTO tournament—which you can read about in more detail below.

A total of 23,477 entries have competed over the eight APTO Trophy Events that have played out so far, with ~$3,297,889 in prize money awarded to date and plenty of action left to come!

Upcoming highlights in the next recap include action from the PHP 5,000 ($85.77*) Event #9: Philippines National Cup [Deepstack Bounty] PHP 7,500,000 GTD ($128.654* converted from Philippine Peso) – running Tuesday, November 19th, the $525 Event #10: King of the Jungle Bounty 6-Max – running Thursday, November 21st, and the KRW 330,000 ($240*) Event #11: Korea National Cup KRW 300,000,000 GTD ($217 467* converted from South Korean Won).

Win Your Way Through to The APT Online Main Event

Action in the $800 Event #19: APT Main Event $3M GTD is also underway, with the first three online flights having already drawn 366 entries and 35 players successfully fighting their way through to Day 2, which plays out on Sunday, December 1st at 9 p.m. (HKT).

APT Main Event Day 1s are running from 16th November to December 1st, with daily $8 Step Satellites and $80 Mega Satellites. In addition to claiming the lion’s share of the enticing Main Event $3 million prize pool guarantee, the eventual winner will walk away with an exclusive bespoke APT Online Lion Trophy – don’t miss out on the action!

Event #6: Sunday Super Stack

Playing out Sunday November 17th and finishing in the wee hours of Monday morning with a grueling 11 hours and 20-minutes of game time, the $300 Event #6: Sunday Super Stack drew 1,280 entries, smashing the $250,000 guarantee and generating a $357,120 prize pool – an impressive 29 percent increase in both entries and prize pool from the November 2023 APTO tournament. 

The top 180 places paid, with a min-cash coming in at $640.48 and the eventual champion “Aberracao” of Brazil taking home a sizable $36,938.66 top prize after cutting a deal with opponents “Tomaso Baldaso” and “PorFavorAmigo” of Poland when the tournament reached the final three players. “Tomaso Baldaso” collected $38,190.76 for their runner-up finish, with “PorFavorAmigo” earning $35,940.26 for their bronze third-place podium finish with the final table playing out as follows:

Other notables to make the money included Event #2: Superstar Challenge champion “ALEU” (119th for $640.48), and APT Incheon 2023 Super High Roller champion “Milos Petakovic” (180th for $640.48).

Event #7: Mini Main Event 

Event #7: Mini Main EventRunning from Sunday, November 10th to Sunday, November17th the $100 Event #7: Mini Main Event has been the largest and richest tournament of the festival so far with an impressive 12,001 entries competing over 38 starting flights and generating a chunky seven-figure prize pool of $1,104,092. This easily surpassed the $1-million guarantee, and in addition to being 7 percent larger than the November 2023 APTO tournament the event is also over an impressive 21 percent richer!

A total of 1,181 players successfully won their way through to the Final Day, all guaranteeing themselves a minimum cash of at least $201.23 but it was the title, trophy, and tantalizing $140,093.02 top prize that all were aiming for with the action playing out over eight hours of game time. 

It was China’s “d888” who claimed the six-figure top prize, title, trophy and all the accolades that accompany it, defeating Brazil’s “Lisboa710” heads-up with the latter earning $108,008.85 for their runner-up finish. Peru’s “TaWebon” rounded out the podium, taking $83,286.88 for third place, with the final table paying out as follows:

Other notables to make the money but come up short of the final table included China’s “Haisheng_Qiu” (101st for $1,013.14), Event #1: APT Online Bounty Kickoff finalist “gimme_Chicken” (103rd for $1,013.14), Ukraine’s “Kostya Holskyi” (128th for $732.34), Canada’s “Chris Klodnicki” (155th for $732.34), China’s “Wei Zhao” (168th for $732.34), Event #6: Sunday Super Stack runner-up “Tomaso Baldaso” (179th for $732.34), APT Incheon 2023 Super High Roller champion “Milos Petakovic” (180th for $732.34), Friend of Natural8 “JasonHunggy” (220th for $529.58), Natural8 Ambassador “Nevan Chang” (248th for $529.58), and the prolific “David Peters” (361st for $383).

Event #8: APT Online Invitational $10K Added

APT Online Event #8: APT Online Invitational, $10K AddedExclusively for APT LIVE players with $10K of added value, the Event #8: APT Online Invitational came with $50 re-buys and saw 677 players competing for a $12,050 prize pool over seven hours and fifty minutes of game time; 96 players made the money, with a min-cash good for $40.52.

It was Hong Kong’s “Karson29” who emerged victorious, claiming a $1,563.29 top prize after cutting a deal with heads-up opponent “LeLamHung” of Vietnam who earned $1,578.23 for their runner-up finish. Taiwan’s “WangDerSon” claimed bronze and a payout of $1,054.58 for third place and the final table paying out as follows:
